Imo you would be wasting your money. While you have redundant functions on the Solo. In terms of sound quality you'll gain little or nothing from a pure stereo amp. Especially in that mid range price tag. The speakers though may be a direction you could take to 'change' the sound again different over improve. If the Solo is fully functional and all is working fine keep it.

Perhaps John Dawson himself might like to comment? Basically it is having trouble reading some discs. When I put a manually Finalized disc in, the CD72 makes a different noise and the digit '0' appears in the display - indicating the CD player cannot read the disc.
What is going on here I ask? Makes no sense to me. How can this be? Is it possible the lens is dirty? Second problem The crackle can stay there for days or weeks on end, disappear then re-appear again.
