So I just noticed, it's not a system wide problem, but only occurs inside of MS Office applications. I typed something in WordPad and was able to paste it into PowerPoint. After rechecking this thread, I killed every process of Internet Explorer and Edge and the problem got "fixed"! I think it's kinda impossible to find the root of this as it seems that something inside Edge or IE is killing something else in Office But it's definitely a faster workaround than a reboot.
